Julie Butchart – Julie Butchart Consulting

Julie Butchart will be presenting at the Jena Dyco Meth Lab Cleanup Seminar taking place on Friday 23rd March.

Julie Butchart is an occupational hygienist who specialises in testing clandestine drug labs for methamphetamine residues.

Julie’s first introduction to the ‘meth lab cleanup’ industry was the Jena Dyco Meth Lab Cleanup conference in 2010. She then completed the Clandestine Testing and Analysis course in 2011 and has been testing clan labs for worried landlords, tenants, property managers and environmental health officers around Victoria ever since.

Julie’s business, the Forensic Hygienst, provides occupational hygiene services with a specific focus on methamphetamine residue testing. She is passionate about helping cleanup contaminated houses to reduce potential exposure to future tenants and their children.

Julie first started working in occupational hygiene in the mining industry in 1994 after completing her Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) from Curtin university in Perth. Her first role as an occupational hygiene & environmental technician provided her with a foundation for learning a wide range of occupational hygiene and environmental monitoring techniques, and Julie has since enjoyed a varied career, consisting of work in mining, petrochem, manufacturing and consulting, both as an occupational hygienist and as an OH&S consultant.

Julie also holds a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Hygiene and a Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science (Forensic Chemistry).
